Currency and Cards

The currency is Polish Zloty (Iso symbol PLN). You can check the latest currency exchange rates here.
Visa and Mastercard are widely accepted. Also American Express and Diners are accepted in the most important facilities (Hotels, Restaurants).
For daily expenses is more convenient to use cash.

Telephone

Any GSM / UMTS Mobile phone will work in Poland as long as roaming is enabled on your phone / account.
The national mobile operators are Plus GSM, ERA, Orange and Play.
The Networks are GSM 900 / 1800 and UMTS 2100

The Poland international dialing code is 48. Drop the zero before the local number to call from abroad (example, to call the Warsaw number 022 12345.... dial 0048 22 12345... and from USA dial 011 48 22 12345...)

Banks and money transfers.

The main banks in Poland are WBK, Pekao S.a., PKO Bank Polski. Poland uses the international standards for money transfers (IBAN / SWIFT / BIC / SEPA ).

Many kiosks offer Moneygram and Western Union services, but very often they can't speak english.
